Giulia Andreina Disanto is an Associate Professor of German Literature at the Department of Humanistic Studies (Università del Salento). She holds a PhD in Literary Studies from the University of Bari and has held DAAD fellowships at Freie Universität Berlin and Technische Universität Berlin. Her research focuses on 20th-century German literature, particularly modernism, avant-garde movements (especially Kurt Schwitters and Dadaism), ecocriticism, and the interplay between literature and war studies. She is Principal Investigator of the PRIN 2022 project on ecocritical perspectives in German literature and led the Salento unit in the PRIN 2017 project on medieval geographic texts. Education: PhD in Literary Studies (2006, University of Bari), Laurea magna cum laude (2002, University of Bari). DAAD fellowships (2007, 2010), Robert Bosch Foundation fellowship (2018). Research interests include German literature from 19th century to present, with specialization in avant-garde studies, ecocriticism, and war/pacifism narratives. Key authors studied: Paul Celan, Kurt Schwitters, Ingeborg Bachmann, and Frank Wedekind. She has published extensively on Dadaist poetry, Schwitters' work, and ecocritical approaches to German literature.
