John N. DuPont is the R.D. Stout Distinguished Professor of Materials Science & Engineering at Lehigh University , where he also serves as Associate Director of the Energy Research Center and holds a joint appointment in the Mechanical Engineering Department. He was a founding Director of the National Science Foundation Manufacturing and Materials Joining Innovation Center, a globally prominent welding research facility. His academic contributions include teaching courses on Welding Metallurgy, Diffusion and Phase Transformations, and Advanced Solidification.
