Leslie Satin is a Professor of Pharmacology and Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School. He serves as the Joanne I. Moore Endowed Research Professor and is affiliated with the Brehm Diabetes Research Center, Caswell Diabetes Institute, and MEND program in Internal Medicine. His research focuses on pancreatic islet biology and beta cell physiology. Research interests include: Beta cell stimulus-secretion coupling Calcium signaling in organelles and cytosol Oscillations in biological systems Mathematical modeling of cellular processes Genetically encoded sensors for live cell imaging Recent publications highlight his work on glucose-mediated insulin secretion dynamics, KATP channel regulation, and endoplasmic reticulum homeostasis in beta cells.
