Professor Albert Cheng is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Houston. His research focuses on real-time systems, cyber-physical systems, smart cities, and embedded systems with societal impacts. He has authored over 270 publications and a textbook on real-time systems. Cheng holds roles as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering and ACM Computing Surveys. His research interests span real-time scheduling, machine learning applications, and systems optimization. Recent work includes vehicular traffic modeling for epidemiological risk reduction, quantum computing response time analysis, and satellite mission planning.
