Charalambos Vrasidas is a Professor in the Department of Education at the University of Cyprus and Director of the Centre for the Advancement of Research and Development in Educational Technology (CARDET). His academic career includes roles such as Visiting Professor at Western Illinois University and Assistant Director for Distance Learning at the Center for the Application of Information Technologies. He holds a PhD from Arizona State University (1999), a Master’s from Western Illinois University (1995), and a Bachelor’s from the same institution (1994). His research focuses on e-learning policy, mobile learning, gamification, and teacher development. Key interests include the integration of virtual and augmented reality in education, digital strategies for inclusive learning, and cross-cultural validation of educational frameworks. He has led projects such as the EU-funded Digital4All initiative, aiming to enhance universities' capacity to develop digital strategies for diverse learners. Dr. Vrasidas has authored over 70 publications, including studies on teacher wellbeing, burnout measurement, and the impact of emergency remote teaching during the pandemic. His work emphasizes contextual adaptations in educational interventions, particularly in Cyprus, and explores the role of technology in addressing challenges faced by refugee populations and SMEs. His contributions span educational policy, teacher training, and innovative pedagogical approaches. He collaborates internationally on projects addressing language acquisition, social-emotional learning, and the ethical dimensions of technology in education.
