Markus Prause is a Professor at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK) , where he has held a permanent teaching position since 1990. He studied piano under Horst Leichtfried at the Vienna Conservatory, with further training from Dr. Josef Dichler, Adam Harasiewicz, and Edith Picht-Axenfeld, and guest studies with Sergei Maltsev and Walter Fleischmann. His career spans performance, pedagogy, and artistic direction, including founding the Vienna West Music Forum in 2005.
