Dr. Ahmed Saleem is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong’s Civil, Mining, Environmental and Architectural Engineering School. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy Resources Engineering and has held academic roles at institutions including the University of Sharjah (Assistant Professor) and Carleton University (Postdoctoral Research Fellow). His research focuses on sustainable building design, energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and post-occupancy evaluations. Dr. Saleem has contributed to projects on renewable energy integration, resilient architecture, and building performance simulation. Education: Ph.D. in Energy Resources Engineering (2015–2018), Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology M.Sc. in Energy Resources Engineering (2013–2015), Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering (2005–2010), Assiut University Research Interests: Building performance simulation, occupant thermal comfort, sustainable architecture, renewable energy integration, and resilient design. His work bridges architecture, engineering, and environmental science to optimize building systems for energy efficiency and occupant well-being. Teaching & Supervision: Coordinates courses like ENGG105 - Engineering Design for Sustainability and advises a Ph.D. student researching moisture and heat transfer in building envelopes. Funding & Grants: Secured grants for projects such as the AI-BEE initiative (2024–2025) and a pilot research grant at UOW (2024). Previously led studies on green roofs and building retrofitting in the UAE and Canada. Labs & Collaborations: Engages with interdisciplinary teams on sustainability research, including collaborations with Prof. Liam O’Brien at Carleton University and Prof. Burak Gunay.
