Foondun Mohammud is a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Strathclyde, Faculty of Science. He holds a PhD and has been actively engaged in research and teaching in probability and stochastic analysis. His research centers on Probability Theory and Stochastic Partial Differential Equations (SPDEs) , particularly focusing on qualitative properties such as blow-up behavior, regularity, and long-term dynamics. His work draws from PDE theory, stochastic processes, and harmonic analysis, and has applications in finance, physics, and engineering. The recent publications reflect a strong trend in theoretical SPDEs, especially concerning the stochastic heat and wave equations, with emphasis on non-existence, small ball probabilities, and blow-up phenomena. These works are published in top-tier journals like Probability Theory and Related Fields and Journal of Differential Equations . Scientific Awards: FHEA (Fellow of the Higher Education Academy) Advising and Grants: Dr. Foondun has supervised multiple research students and served as Principal Investigator on several research projects funded by the Leverhulme Trust and the London Mathematical Society. His grants support international collaborations, particularly with researchers in Spain and Turkey, focusing on SPDEs and stochastic heat equations. Labs and Teams: He is part of the Probability and Stochastic Analysis research group within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He collaborates with researchers at Pompeu Fabra University, Bogazici University, and Academia Sinica, contributing to a vibrant international network in stochastic analysis.
