Amir Shaikhha is an Associate Professor (Reader) in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. He was previously an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) at the same institution from 2020 to 2024 and a Departmental Lecturer at the University of Oxford until August 2020. He is also a Junior Research Fellow at University College, Oxford. His academic journey began with a Ph.D. from EPFL in 2018, where he was awarded the Google Ph.D. Fellowship in structured data analysis and a Ph.D. thesis distinction. His research centers on the design and implementation of data-analytics systems, drawing upon techniques from databases, programming languages, compilers, and machine learning.
