Denis Dowling is a Full Professor in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD). He is the director of the I-Form Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, a 40+ million Euro initiative focusing on materials processing, additive manufacturing, and digital technologies integration. His research spans additive manufacturing, surface engineering, plasma treatments, and nanomaterials. He also leads UCD's participation in the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) in manufacturing.
