Professor Lisa Whitehead is a leading academic in nursing research at Edith Cowan University (ECU), holding the roles of Professor of Nursing Research, Director of the Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Services Research, and Associate Dean Research within ECU's School of Nursing and Midwifery. She also serves as an Honorary Research Professor at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Her research focuses on improving health outcomes for individuals with chronic conditions through self-management strategies and family-centered care. She has over 30 years of experience in clinical and multidisciplinary research, emphasizing real-world application of evidence-based practices. Education: Dr. Whitehead holds a Doctor of Philosophy (2004), Master of Arts (1995), and Bachelor of Science (1993) from the UK. She has supervised 12 completed PhD students and over 30 Master’s students, with current supervision of 8 PhD and 2 Master’s candidates.
