Jessica Fintzen is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Bonn since 2022, holding the Chair for Number Theory. Previously, she served as a Royal Society University Research Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Cambridge (2020–2022) and Assistant Professor at Duke University (2020–2021). Her academic journey includes postdoctoral roles at the University of Michigan (2016–2020) and the Institute for Advanced Study (2017–2018). She earned her PhD in Mathematics from Harvard University in 2016, alongside dual BSc degrees in Mathematics and Physics from Jacobs University Bremen (2011). Her research focuses on number theory and representation theory , particularly on p-adic groups and the Langlands program. She has organized high-profile conferences such as the 2020 Paul J. Sally, Jr. Midwest Representation Theory Conference and the Arizona Winter School 2025. Her work bridges theoretical insights with applications, including contributions to Bruhat-Tits theory, Hecke algebras, and automorphic forms. Fintzen has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the EMS Prize (2024), the Frank Nelson Cole Prize in Algebra (2024), and the Whitehead Prize (2022). She leads the ERC Starting Grant-funded project and has secured NSF grants, including a CAREER Grant. Her research also involves collaborations on topics like Moy-Prasad filtrations and stable vectors in representation theory. Grants: ERC Starting Grant (2022–2027), NSF CAREER Grant (2021–2026), NSF Grant (2018–2022) Fellowships: Sloan Research Fellowship (2021–2023), Royal Society Fellowship (2020–2025) Professional Activities: Organized conferences, led working groups, and contributed to initiatives like the Arithmetic Geometry and Representation Theory group in Bonn.
