Dr. Silvia Cometta Conde is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology's Faculty of Engineering, School of Mechanical, Medical & Process Engineering. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy from QUT and maintains active research in biomaterials development and tissue engineering. Her research focuses on developing advanced biomaterials for medical applications, with particular emphasis on antibacterial coatings, 3D-printed scaffolds, and tissue regeneration strategies. Key areas include tannic acid-based biomaterials, albumin-tannic acid systems, and biofilm prevention technologies for medical implants. Her work bridges fundamental materials science with translational medical applications. Dr. Cometta Conde's publication record demonstrates consistent output in high-impact journals, with research spanning biomaterials characterization, in vitro and in vivo validation, and clinical translation pathways. Her recent work shows increasing focus on solving persistent challenges in implant-associated infections and developing standardized biocompatibility assessment methods. She collaborates extensively with Professor Dietmar W. Hutmacher and other researchers across multiple institutions, contributing to interdisciplinary projects in regenerative medicine and medical device development.
