K R Guruprasad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur). With a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, he has established himself as a leading researcher in robotics, motion planning, and multi-robot systems. Takanori Shibata is a Professor at the Faculty of Science and Engineering , Waseda University , specializing in Synthetic Organic Chemistry , Structural Organic Chemistry , and Physical Organic Chemistry . He holds a PhD in Science from the University of Tokyo and has contributed to transition metal-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis, C-H activation, and chiral compound design. Education : PhD (University of Tokyo, 1989-1994) BS (University of Tokyo, 1985-1989) Research Interests : His work focuses on enantioselective synthesis of axially and planar-chiral compounds, sulfur-containing polycyclic systems, and hypervalent iodine reagents. Key areas include Rhodium- and Iridium-catalyzed cycloadditions , C-H bond functionalization , and visible-light photocatalysis . Recent studies highlight applications in fluorescent materials and CPL-active compounds . Article Trends : Over the past five years, Shibata has pioneered [2+2+2] cycloadditions for chiral helicenes, ligand-controlled C-H activation strategies, and gold-catalyzed heterocycle formation. His 2025 work on enantioselective cannabinol bioisosteres and saddle-shaped chiral compounds demonstrates continued innovation in asymmetric catalysis.
