Dr. Gerrit Höltje is a Researcher in the Department of Psychology at Saarland University. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Saarland University (2020), where he previously completed both his Bachelor's (2009-2013) and Master's degrees (2013-2016). His academic career includes positions as a research assistant in the International Research Training Group 'Adaptive Minds' and internships at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences. His research focuses on cognitive neuroscience mechanisms, particularly investigating prediction errors across domains (feedback processing, language comprehension) and their impact on episodic memory formation using electrophysiological methods (Event-Related Potentials). Key research areas include neural correlates of memory encoding, reward prediction errors, and schematic processing. Höltje's publications demonstrate a consistent focus on memory and prediction mechanisms, with recent work examining how linguistic constraints and feedback timing influence memory formation. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several neuroscience and psychology journals including Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Neuroscience and Neuropsychologia .
