Annamaria Westregård is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Lund University's Department of Business Law, where she also serves as Head of Department and Director of Third Cycle Studies. Her research focuses on Labour Law and Business Law, particularly addressing challenges in the gig economy, workplace privacy, and social security systems. Projects include analyses of sickness benefits regulation, drug testing programs, and social dumping risks in EU cross-border employment. Recent publications highlight trends in gig economy regulation, employment law adaptation, and privacy rights. She has secured grants from institutions like IFAU, Forte, and HSFR for interdisciplinary research involving collaborations with Karolinska Institutet and other experts. Westregård supervises PhD students, participates in conferences (e.g., Privacy@Work), and contributes to media discussions on gig economy developments. She is also involved in the Lund Human Rights Research Hub.
