Matthew Siegfried is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geophysics at Colorado School of Mines, where he leads the Mines Glaciology Laboratory . His work combines satellite remote sensing with field and airborne geophysical methods to study Earth's glaciers and ice sheets, focusing on subglacial hydrology, ice-ocean interactions, and grounding zone dynamics. Recent projects examine West Antarctic ice streams, Arctic coastal dynamics, and Ross Ice Shelf stability. Publications span topics in subglacial lake evolution , ICESat-2 algorithm development , and ice-ocean feedback mechanisms .
