Professor Dinesh S. Thakur holds the position of Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Rochester. He earned his PhD from Harvard University and has made significant contributions to number theory, arithmetic geometry, and function field arithmetic. His research focuses on developing theories related to zeta functions, Drinfeld modules, and p-adic analysis in finite characteristic environments. Education: PhD in Mathematics, Harvard University Research Interests: Thakur’s work integrates advanced topics such as elliptic curves, modular forms, Diophantine equations, and the arithmetic of function fields. He has pioneered studies on multizeta values, p-adic continued fractions, and the distribution of Diophantine exponents in finite characteristic.
