Gaurav Sharma is a Professor at the University of Rochester, holding joint appointments in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Biostatistics and Computational Biology. He is also a Distinguished Researcher at the Goergen Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. His research focuses on Data Analytics, Cyber Physical Systems, Signal and Image Processing, Computer Vision, Media Security, and Communications. Previously, he served as Director of the Center for Emerging and Innovative Sciences (2008-2010) and held roles at Xerox Research (1996-2003). He earned a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University (1996), alongside degrees from Indian institutions including the Indian Institute of Science and IIT Roorkee.
