Dr. Polina Maciejczyk is a Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Eckerd College. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Maryland and a B.S. in Chemistry from Rowan University. Her research specializes in atmospheric chemistry and air pollution health effects, with emphasis on: Source apportionment of particulate matter (PM2.5/PM10) Health impacts of metals in ambient particles Cardiovascular and inflammatory responses to pollution Statistical modeling of pollution sources Global air quality in urban environments including Beijing and Jeddah Her publications (2002-2022) demonstrate consistent focus on pollution toxicology, with recent work examining fossil fuel combustion metals. Research employs: Chemical speciation via X-ray fluorescence Mobile air monitoring systems Biometric telemetry in murine models Cellular response analysis
