Maureen van Molken is a Full Professor of Economic Evaluation of Innovations for Health at Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She also serves as Scientific Director of the Institute for Medical Technology Assessment (IMTA). Her academic roles include teaching Health Technology Assessment and Pharmaceutical Pricing in the Master’s program. With nearly 30 years of experience, her research focuses on economic evaluations, health technology assessment methods, and cost-effectiveness of complex healthcare interventions. She leads major projects like SELFIE (Horizon2020) for integrated care in multi-morbidity and contributes to HEcoPerMed on personalized medicine financing strategies. Her expertise spans respiratory diseases (COPD, asthma), rheumatology, cardiovascular conditions, and personalized medicine. She holds an MSc and PhD in Health Economics from Maastricht University. Professional contributions include over 317 research outputs and 19 datasets, emphasizing methodological advancements in health economics. Her work addresses SDGs related to health equity and sustainable development. Recent research explores bundled payment models, frail elderly populations, and conflict-of-interest management in HTA processes. She collaborates internationally on initiatives like Invest4Health, advancing preventive health financing strategies.
