Adarsh Pyarelal is an Assistant Professor at the School of Information , University of Arizona. His research focuses on socially-aware AI teammates, automated assembly of causal models from text/software, and probabilistic modeling of human coordination. He holds a Ph.D. and has contributed to projects like MultiCAT and Eidos/INDRA/Delphi frameworks. His work spans multimodal dialogue systems, variable extraction from scientific literature, and applications in particle physics collaborations. Notable contributions include the Future Circular Collider feasibility studies and vector quantization techniques in reinforcement learning. Despite numerous grant proposal rejections (noted in his Shadow CV), his research emphasizes resilience in academic pursuits. Current focus areas include AI team coordination and improving model interpretability through causal frameworks. He does not currently accept new PhD students. Technical interests include cross-platform GUI libraries (wxWidgets), MacPorts Python management, and reproducible research workflows using Pandoc/Zotero.
