Ashna Mahmood Zada serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University's Faculty of IT and Design, Denmark. Her work bridges human-centered computing with environmental sustainability through digital innovation. Her research centers on digital transformation in environmental assessment, specializing in roadmapping methodologies, data journey analysis, and sustainable development goal integration. She employs qualitative case studies and conceptual frameworks to dissect socio-technical tensions in environmental data mobilization, processing, and repurposing—particularly within Austrian and European contexts. Her approach combines human-computer interaction principles with environmental governance to optimize digital educational materials and assessment tools. Publication trends (2022-2024) reveal consistent focus on operationalizing digital transformation for environmental impact assessment, emphasizing goal-setting mechanisms and data workflow tensions. Her work demonstrates growing influence through Scopus citations and media coverage of sustainable digitalization benefits. She actively contributes to major grants including DREAMS (2020-2023; €200k+), developing digitally supported environmental assessment tools for Sustainable Development Goals, and the ongoing Digitalization Activities for DAD Students project (2024-2026). Her cross-institutional collaborations span environmental scientists, HCI researchers, and policy experts across Denmark and Austria. Zada operates within Aalborg University's Human-Centered Computing research environment, leveraging interdisciplinary teams focused on digital educational materials development and environmental assessment modernization. Her lab infrastructure supports data journey mapping and digital tool prototyping for sustainability contexts.
