Klimis Mastoridis is a Professor of Typography & Graphic Communication , currently serving as Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus . He has held significant leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Design and Multimedia (April 2008–2014) and Associate Dean of SHSS (December 2016–February 2020). He is also the founding Director of the Institute for the Study of Typography & Visual Communication and Editor of Hyphen, a typographic forum . Key themes include cultural preservation, crisis-era design, and the intersection of ancient and modern typographic practices. Scientific Awards Fellow, International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD) Fellow, Institute of Paper, Printing and Publishing (IP3) Honorary Recognition, International Gutenberg Society (2015) Professional Leadership: Over 40 years, he has chaired AlterVision SA , directed Typophilia Publishing , and established the University of Macedonia Press (EU-funded, 1998). He has served on juries for national/international design competitions and organized major typography conferences in Thessaloniki and Nicosia.
