Dr. Martí Quixal is a Researcher at the University of Tübingen, affiliated with the Tübingen Center for Digital Education (TüCeDE) and the transfer office of the lernen:digital project. His work focuses on bridging schools and research institutions through digital education, with a focus on NLP applications for language learning and adaptive systems. He has previously served as a Research Assistant and Lecturer at the University of Tübingen's Seminar for Linguistics and at the University of Texas at Austin. Martí Quixal's research interests include computational linguistics, digital education, automated feedback systems, and technology transfer in language learning. His projects, such as DigBindiff and ICE3 , explore adaptive support for language learners and the integration of educational technology into school practice. His recent publications address topics such as working memory in ADHD students, automatic annotation of language targets, and NLP challenges in processing informal user-generated content. He has contributed to conferences like LREC, CALICO, and CALL, with a focus on practical implementations of language technology. Dr. Quixal holds a Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics from the Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada at Pompeu Fabra University and has been involved in EU-funded projects like ALLES and AutoLearn , developing controlled language tools and feedback mechanisms for distance learning. He has also worked on Catalan language technology challenges, collaborating with groups like Barcelona Media and the Voice and Language Group. His career spans academia, teacher training, and industry, with a consistent emphasis on practical pedagogical applications of computational linguistics.
