Prof. Dr. Hakkı Eskicioğlu is affiliated with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at İzmir University of Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Machine Tools from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) and has held academic positions at Middle East Technical University (METU) from 1982 to 1991, including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Between 1988-1989, he conducted research on AI and Expert Systems at Hannover University's IFW as a visiting scholar under the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation. B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Middle East Technical University (1973) M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Middle East Technical University (1975) Ph.D. in Machine Tools, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (1981) His research focuses on Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) , Process Planning , Machine Tools , Numerical Control , and Cutting Optimization . He has authored the book Numerical Control and Machine Tools (published in Turkish by the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers) and contributed to 21 international conference and journal publications.
