Ramy El-Jalbout is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal, affiliated with the Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine. He is based at the Centre hospitalier universitaire Sainte-Justine (CHU Sainte-Justine), specializing in pediatric radiology, ultrasound imaging, and vascular system research with a focus on obesity-related vascular changes in children. His research explores imaging techniques such as vascular elastography and carotid intima-media thickness measurements to assess early cardiovascular risks in pediatric populations. Education: Holds a Master's in Biomedical Sciences from Université de Montréal, with a thesis on vascular elastography and BMI correlations in children. Research interests include liver MRI, imaging sequelae of childhood obesity, and pediatric cardiovascular health. He leads projects on early vascular biomarkers and has been awarded a FRQS Salary Grant for Junior 1 Researchers (2021–2025). Notable grants include studies on preterm birth outcomes and vascular monitoring in neonates. Publications span topics like PHACES syndrome imaging, omega-3 effects on NAFLD, and computer-aided neonatal brain volume assessments. He mentors students in pediatric imaging and obesity-related vascular research, with advisees including Émilie Alchourron (M.Sc., 2024) and Jean-Baptiste Moretti (M.Sc., 2024). Affiliations include the HAPI-Kidney study team and the Réseau de bio-imagerie du Québec (RBIQ). He contributes to initiatives like the Advanced Pediatric Ultrasound Laboratory, fostering interdisciplinary research in medical imaging and child health.
