Dr. Wasan Shakir Awad serves as Associate Professor and Dean of the College of Information Technology at Ahlia University, Bahrain. With 22 years of academic experience since joining University of Bahrain in 2002 (promoted to Associate Professor in 2012) and Ahlia University in 2014, she coordinates ABET accreditation for IT programs and teaches core computer science disciplines. Her educational credentials include BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees in Computer Science. Research focuses on computational intelligence, business intelligence, and information security, with emphasis on algorithm design, cryptography, and coding theory. Her interdisciplinary work bridges theoretical computer science with practical security frameworks and intelligent systems development, demonstrating consistent publication in high-impact journals since 2020. Scientific recognition includes: Best Paper Award at multiple conferences Dr. Awad has supervised over 50 postgraduate students while maintaining active editorial roles for international journals. Her professional contributions extend to Bahraini community service through Ministry of Social Development consultancy, NQF validation, and academic program development for national institutions. She leads research initiatives as member of IEEE, ACM, Machine Intelligence Research Labs (MIR Labs), and Internet Society.
