Nikol Žiha is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. She holds academic positions including Vice-Dean for Projects and International Cooperation (2014–2016) and has been a member of the Organizing Committee for the ECLIC International Conference since 2017. Her research focuses on Roman private law, European legal history, and legal education methodologies. She speaks English, German, and French, and actively engages in international academic collaboration, notably as an Erasmus+ coordinator. She earned her doctorate in 2012 with a thesis on Roman maritime loan as an insurance precursor. Her teaching includes Roman private law, European legal tradition, and Latin legal terminology. Professional qualifications include pedagogical training, project management, and conference organization. She has authored over 20 scholarly articles and co-edited works on topics such as Roman legal principles, insurance history, and interdisciplinary legal studies. Her academic affiliations include the Collegium Junger Romanisten and Balkan Association for Roman Law. Recent work explores ethical education in law schools and historical legal frameworks for maritime and medical practices. Grants include a 2009–2010 fellowship at Vienna University’s Institute for Roman Law.
