Assoc. Prof. Iva Valkova holds the position of Head Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Sofia. She graduated in Pharmacy in 1995 and obtained her PhD in theoretical/computational chemistry in 2015. Her research focuses on QSAR modeling, transmembrane permeability studies, and biomolecular interactions using techniques like isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC). She has authored 25 publications and one textbook, with over 300 citations. Valkova has led one research project and participated in ten others, funded by institutions like the Medical Science Council. She teaches courses in Physical & Colloid Chemistry and Biopharmacy/Pharmacokinetics.
