David Castañón is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and Systems Engineering (SE) at Boston University. He holds a PhD from MIT (1976) and has held leadership roles including Department Chair of BU ECE (2010-2014) and President of the IEEE Control Systems Society (2008). His research focuses on stochastic control, optimization, game theory, and distributed computing, with applications in sensor management, inverse problems, and autonomous systems.
