Isabella Friis Jørgensen is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Public Health, Section for Health Data Science and AI at the University of Copenhagen, working under Professor Søren Brunak's Translational Disease Systems Biology program. She also serves as a Guest Researcher at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research in the Brunak Group. Her educational background includes: MSc in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (2013-2016, awarded February 19, 2016) BSc in Human Life Science Engineering (2010-2013, awarded July 1, 2013) Dr. Jørgensen specializes in analyzing healthcare data to understand disease trajectories and comorbidities, primarily utilizing the Danish National Patient Registry. Her PhD research focused on identifying under- and over-diagnosed diseases through imputation of diagnoses in disease trajectories, with particular emphasis on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). She coordinates and teaches master's and postdoc courses in bioinformatics and health data science, and is actively involved in the EU-funded REACT project aimed at developing prediction models for personalized treatment of influenza, RS virus, and SARS-CoV-2. Her publication record reveals a strong interdisciplinary approach spanning neurology, immunology, transplantation medicine, and epidemiology. She has developed methodologies for analyzing temporal disease patterns, patient stratification, and validation of diagnoses using electronic health records.
