Christopher Herring serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Assistant Administrator for the UA Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Program at the University of Arizona, where he is also a member of the Graduate Faculty. His educational qualifications include: DNP in Nursing, Duke University, 2018 M.S.N. in Nurse Anesthesia, University of North Carolina, 2005 B.S.N. in Nursing, University of North Carolina, 1993 Dr. Herring's primary research and professional interests encompass Nurse Anesthesia, Critical Care Nursing, and Global Health. He has dedicated significant effort to international medical missions, leading surgical teams to the Dominican Republic since 2012. His scholarly project at Duke University focused on developing a virtual orientation program to enhance global health and cultural competence among volunteer international health team members. In his advisory role, Dr. Herring mentors students in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, particularly in clinical anesthesia practice. His experience in diverse clinical settings, including the U.S. Air Force, organ sharing networks, and rural hospitals, enriches his teaching. He actively leads surgical mission teams to the Dominican Republic, providing critical care services and fostering cross-cultural healthcare education.
