Stefanie Redemann is an Associate Professor at the University of Virginia , affiliated with the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics in the School of Medicine . She holds a Diploma in Biology from Technische Universität Darmstadt and a PhD in Cell Biology from the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics, with postdoctoral training at Technische Universität Dresden. She investigates molecular and mechanical principles of spindle assembly to address errors linked to cancer progression and reproductive health issues. Recent publications highlight work on microtubule dynamics, chromokinesin function, and tubulin regulation in meiosis. Awards include being named a Cell Scientist to Watch (2021). Her lab at the University of Virginia integrates interdisciplinary approaches to unravel mechanisms of cell division.
