Apostolos Vavouris is a Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde within the College of Engineering , Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering . He is part of the Horizon2020 GECKO project, focusing on interpretable Deep Learning and AI for climate change mitigation. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in progress (expected completion 2025) Master of Science in Accounting and Finance (2020), University of Macedonia Integrated MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2019), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Research Interests revolve around Smart Meter Energy Analytics , Non-intrusive Load Monitoring , and Deep Learning for energy systems. His work spans load disaggregation, electricity forecasting, demand flexibility, and decarbonization of agriculture and dairy sectors. Recent Publications include frameworks for AI-enabled load scheduling in dairy industries, open datasets on energy practices, and methodologies for three-phase energy analysis. He contributes to SDGs like Climate Action and Affordable Energy . Scientific Awards : Images of Research 2024: Capturing Collaboration Category Award Collaborations include partnerships with Technical Chamber of Greece , University of Macedonia , and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki . He supervises datasets on EV charging and energy practices and participates in public events like Housing 2025 .
