Mohamad Abou El-Nasr is a Professor of Computer Engineering and serves as the Dean of Educational Affairs at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Alexandria, Egypt. He also holds an adjunct professor position at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering through the VTMENA program. His work bridges theoretical computer science with practical applications in healthcare, commerce, and transportation systems. 2011 Young Scientist award from Twas-AAS-Microsoft Professor Abou El-Nasr joined the faculty at AASTMT in June 2003 and has established himself as a leader in his field. He has supervised graduate students in areas including RFIDs for E-commerce/E-Supply chain (one Master's student) and Semantic Web technologies (one PhD student currently in progress). As Dean of Educational Affairs, he plays a key role in shaping academic programs and policies at the institution. His international collaboration with Virginia Tech through the VTMENA program demonstrates his commitment to global academic partnerships and knowledge exchange between institutions in the Middle East and North Africa region and those in the United States.
