Prof. Zoran Hadzi-Velkov is a Full Professor of Telecommunications Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (Skopje, Macedonia). He holds a Ph.D. from the same institution and has held visiting positions at IBM Watson Research Center (USA) and Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany). His research focuses on wireless communications, energy-efficient networks, and federated learning. He serves as Editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Communications Letters, and ITU Journal, and has reviewed projects for EU Framework Programs and the Science Fund of Serbia. Education: Dipl. Ing. (honors), M.Sc. (honors), Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Ss. Cyril and Methodius University) His research interests include wireless powered communications, cooperative systems, and resource allocation. Key contributions span energy harvesting networks, intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS), and federated learning protocols. He has authored over 150 journal/conference papers and co-authored book chapters in wireless power transfer and communication systems. Awards include the Humboldt Fellowship (2012), Scientist of the Year (2013), and institutional recognitions for editorial excellence. He advises prominent students like Dr. Nikola Zlatanov (Monash University) and Dr. Ivana Nikoloska (TU Eindhoven). Professional activities include chairing the Macedonian IEEE Communications Society (2012-2015), participating in Berlin Process science initiatives, and delivering keynotes at global forums (e.g., Humboldt Kollegs series). Current projects involve wireless energy transfer optimization and cross-border academic collaboration in the Western Balkans.
