Piotr Tomasz Grzegorczyk is a Lecturer in the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminology at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz, where he has been employed since October 1, 2005. He holds a PhD in Law obtained in 2015 after completing doctoral studies at the same faculty between 2005-2013. His academic work includes teaching seminars in criminal studies specialization for evening law students at various levels. Dr. Grzegorczyk's educational background includes a Master's degree in Law from the University of Lodz (2000-2005). His research interests focus primarily on two interconnected areas: criminalistics and legal issues related to firearms, and drug policy. Since 2015, he has expanded his research to include drug policy, particularly developing 'permissive-regulatory' models as alternatives to traditional drug prohibition approaches. His scholarly output reveals a clear progression from traditional criminalistics topics toward innovative drug policy research. The most recent publications (2018-2021) predominantly concern cannabis regulation, CBD legality, and comprehensive drug policy reform models. Earlier works (2007-2014) focused more on firearms, criminal procedure, and forensic science. This evolution demonstrates his transition from purely forensic topics to interdisciplinary drug policy research combining legal, social, and public health perspectives. Dr. Grzegorczyk serves as project manager of the Forensic Laboratory (code B1911900000235.03) and has created several significant research initiatives including the 'PolNar Open Research Platform' and a decade-long project developing a 'hypothetical new model of permissive-regulatory drug policy.' He is also the editor-in-chief of Index Scientia Cannabis journal since 2017 and supervisor of the Student Criminology Club at the Faculty of Law and Administration.
