Mohammed Ibahrine is a Professor in Residence in the Journalism and Strategic Communication Program at Northwestern University in Qatar. He holds a distinguished academic career with previous roles including Professor at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), coordinator of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program in AUS's School of Business and Administration, and teaching positions at the University of Hamburg, University of Erfurt (Germany), and Al-Akhawayn University in Morocco. His research interests span media accountability, digital transformation in Arab media, algorithmic transparency, social media's impact on religious practices, and the platformization of news ecosystems.
