Konstantinos Kepaptsoglou is a Professor at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in the Department of Infrastructure and Rural Development Projects. He concurrently holds a professorship at the School of Technical Education for Engineer Officers (STEAMX) since 2007 and previously served as a Scientific Associate at NTUA (2010-2012). He earned his Civil Engineering degree from NTUA (1999), an MSc from Purdue University (2000), and a PhD from NTUA (2009). His research spans transportation systems design , urban transport management, emergency logistics, operations research, and railway engineering. Key interests include optimization of infrastructure under crisis conditions, economic evaluation of transport networks, and developing algorithms for public transit efficiency. His work integrates computational methods with practical infrastructure challenges. Publications consistently focus on optimization models for transportation systems, featuring genetic algorithms, network design frameworks, and decision support tools. Recent articles emphasize disaster response planning, emergency medical services, and public transit operations, reflecting applied research with direct policy implications. Awards: State-of-the-Art in Civil Engineering Award (ASCE, 2011) He teaches core courses including Transportation Systems, Railway Engineering, and Mass Transportation Operations at NTUA. Professional affiliations include the American Society of Civil Engineers, Technical Chamber of Greece, and Hellenic Society of Operations Research.
