Foysal Kabir Tareq is a Research Fellow at the Department of Engineering Sciences, University of Agder (UiA), Norway. His research focuses on advanced materials for energy conversion and storage systems, including plasma processing of alloys for additive manufacturing, catalyst development for fuel cells/water electrolysis, and electrode materials for metal-air batteries. He holds a PhD in Engineering Sciences (UiA, ongoing since 2021), an M.Sc. in Energy Science and Engineering from DGIST (South Korea), and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Jashore University of Science and Technology (Bangladesh). His work experience includes a Researcher role at UNIST (South Korea, 2020), a Research Assistant position at DGIST (2018–2020), and industry experience in quality control at Rangpur Foundry Limited (2017–2018). Tareq’s research has led to patents on doped carbon catalyst supports and over 30 peer-reviewed publications, with contributions to journals like Journal of Alloys and Compounds and International Journal of Hydrogen Energy . His current projects emphasize optimizing plasma-based material processing for additive manufacturing applications. His publications highlight advancements in nickel silicide alloys for 3D printing, photocatalytic materials for zinc-air batteries, and nanostructured carbon supports for hydrogen evolution reactions. He collaborates internationally, with recent work appearing in top-tier energy and materials journals. Tareq actively participates in conferences and contributes to innovation in sustainable energy technologies.
