Dr. Zühal Güllü serves as Lecturer in the Department of Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis and Head Physician of the Palliative Care Unit at Istanbul Okan University School of Medicine since November 2022. Her academic career spans over 25 years across multiple Turkish medical institutions with dual expertise in pulmonary medicine and critical care.

Her research focuses on critical intersections of pulmonology and intensive care, particularly examining biomarkers for organ dysfunction in ICU patients, ventilation strategies for respiratory failure, and management of complex comorbidities. Current work emphasizes palliative care integration in critical settings and pandemic-related critical illness outcomes. Her 2021 multicenter SARS-CoV-2 study represents significant contributions to understanding mortality predictors in critically ill patients during health emergencies.
Dr. Güllü maintains active clinical engagement through specialized certifications including Polysomnography (2009), Smoking Cessation Training (2011), and Advanced Life Support (2012). Her conference presentations at international symposia demonstrate consistent contributions to critical care knowledge dissemination.
She has participated extensively in educational activities including the ASYOD Advanced Mechanical Ventilation Course (2019) and Turkish Medical Sciences Critical Care Congresses, serving as both educator and course secretary for critical care certification programs.
