Zvonko Turkali

Zvonko Turkali is a Professor of Architecture at Leibniz University Hannover since 1998, affiliated with the Department of Architecture within the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape. He holds a multidisciplinary academic background from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Städelschule Frankfurt, and Harvard University. His professional career includes roles as a research assistant at RWTH Aachen University and a visiting professor at the University of Kassel, alongside leading his own architectural firm, Turkali Architects, since 1988.

His research focuses on urban planning, architectural design, and historical building analysis, with notable publications such as Architecture Guide Hanover (2022) and studies on Ernst Zinsser’s architectural legacy. He advises cities like Frankfurt, Lübeck, and Mannheim on urban development and serves on national/international competition juries.

Teaching responsibilities include courses like Building Theory II, Mediterranean Seminar, and master’s thesis supervision. He co-authored works exhibited at the German Architecture Museum and is a former chairman of BDA Hessen (2009–2012).
