Professor Zsolt Balogh is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Newcastle's School of Medicine and Public Health. He leads the Injury and Trauma Research Program at the Hunter Medical Research Institute and serves as Director of Trauma at John Hunter Hospital. His expertise spans polytrauma, traumatic shock resuscitation, and pelvic fracture management. Balogh has pioneered international standards for polytrauma definition (Berlin Definition) and contributed to WHO ICD-11.
