Zoran Ranković is a Full Professor of Church Slavonic at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, University of Belgrade, where he has served since 2000, progressing from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in 2012 and Full Professor in 2017.
He holds a PhD in Philological Sciences from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Philology (2006), a Master's degree in Philological Sciences (2001), and an earlier degree from the Faculty of Theology of the Serbian Orthodox Church (1997).
His research integrates philological analysis with theological and historical scholarship, focusing on Church Slavonic language structures, Paleo-Slavic linguistic evolution, Serbo-Slavic dialectal traditions, liturgical practices, and Serbian medieval cultural heritage. This work bridges Slavic philology and Orthodox theological studies to decode early Slavic religious manuscripts.
Ranković contributes to digital humanities through eLearning initiatives, notably associated with the scholarly platform slovo.rs, which hosts resources for Church Slavonic studies.
