Zoe Boekelheide

Zoe Boekelheide is an Associate Professor of Physics at Lafayette College and currently serves as the Department Head of Physics. She obtained her B.S. in Physics from Harvey Mudd College in 2004, followed by an M.A. in Physics from UC-Berkeley in 2007, and a Ph.D. in Physics with a Designated Emphasis in Nanoscale Science and Technology from UC-Berkeley in 2011.

Her research focuses on condensed matter physics, particularly on magnetic nanoparticles and their bio-applications such as cancer treatment. She conducts magnetic and thermodynamic measurements on nanoparticle colloids.

Notable achievements include receiving the NRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at NIST-Gaithersburg (2012–2013). She has supervised undergraduate researchers like Jackson Miller ('19), and her work has been highlighted in media articles such as Cooking Cancer Cells and Affordable Options for Nanoparticle Research.
