Professor Zi-Qiang Lang holds the Chair in Complex Systems Analysis and Design at the University of Sheffield's Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering. He earned his BSc and MSc in Automatic Control in China and his PhD from the University of Sheffield. His career includes postdoctoral research, promotion to Lecturer (2003), Senior Lecturer (2008), and Reader (2010) before becoming Chair in 2013.
