Zhu Yifei is an Assistant Professor at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), affiliated with the Faculty of Science and the Department of Mathematics. He has served at SUSTech since December 2016, transitioning to a tenure-track position in February 2020. Prior to this, he worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Northwestern University (2013–2016) and as a Visiting Scholar at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2016).
- Education: Ph.D. in Mathematics (University of Minnesota, 2013), B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Peking University, 2007).
His research spans Algebraic Topology, Homotopy Theory, and Number Theory, focusing on advanced algebraic structures and their topological applications. Key areas include Morava E-theories, modular curves, and power operations.
Recent publications analyze norm coherence in level structures, Hecke algebra actions, and semistable models for modular curves. These works highlight intersections between algebraic geometry, homotopy theory, and number theory, with applications to formal deformations and topological logarithms.
