معرفی
Zhongjie Yu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois. His research focuses on nitrogen dynamics, agroecosystems, water quality management, and biogeochemistry. He has published extensively on topics such as nitrate loss reduction in agricultural systems, riverine nitrogen dynamics, and the impacts of human activities on water quality.
Yu’s work combines field studies with advanced analytical techniques like stable isotope analysis and spatial modeling. Recent studies include evaluating crop rotation strategies to mitigate nitrate pollution and investigating nitrogen transport mechanisms in tile-drained agroecosystems. He received the NSF CAREER Award in 2025, recognizing his contributions to sustainable agriculture and environmental science.
His research has been featured in high-impact journals such as Frontiers in Environmental Science and Water Research. Key themes include the interplay between hydrological processes and biogeochemical cycles, urban infrastructure impacts on water quality, and climate change effects on greenhouse gas emissions.
