Zhi-Hong Mao is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He joined as an Assistant Professor in 2005 and was promoted to Professor in 2018.

Research Interests:
His work spans networked control systems (intelligent transportation, spacecraft, power grids), neuronal dynamics, human-machine interaction, machine learning, and wearable electronics. Research emphasizes real-world applications in aerospace, neuroscience, and collaborative robotics.

Teaching & Lab:
Teaches 10+ courses including Linear Control Systems, Robotic Control, and Optimal Control. Directs the Intelligent Control Laboratory (ICL) focusing on autonomous systems and neural engineering.
